Updating your iOS Device Software

Why should I update my iOS Device –

Updating your device to Apple’s latest software when it’s available addresses previous software bugs, security issues and or problems with the device. Updating your device to the latest software when available is recommended. Each Software Update will provide a link to information of exact details concerning the update (refer to image below).

How to Update your iOS Device –

Update over Wireless – (Recommended)

  • Make sure device is connected to Wi-Fi
  • Open Settings
  • Tap General
  • Tap Software Update
  • Tap Download & Install
  • Enter Passcode for iOS Device

The device will request the software update and give a progress bar on minutes remaining to download the update (refer to image below).

  • Once finished you will be prompted to restart your device to complete the update
  • Your Device will restart and begin installing the update
  • Enter your Passcode

Automatic Updates –

Enable Automatic Updates on your iOS Device to ensure you are always on the most current Software.
